St Vincent de Paul Society
Today, the St Vincent de Paul Society launches a new campaign in collaboration with world renowned children’s entertainers The Wiggles promoting Vinnies Shops. The campaign will feature The Wiggles asking Australians to “Bring in your good stuff and help Vinnies' good works” and will appear on television, on radio and in press from Sunday September 4 until Saturday October 29.
Anthony, Sam, Jeff and Murray had some good quality clothing and household items they didn’t need anymore and decided to take them to a Vinnies Shop. Australians donate their second hand items to Vinnies every day and the Wiggles are no exception, urging the public to give by asking, “What can you give to Vinnies today?”
Vinnies shops need women’s men’s and kids clothes and accessories, books, manchester (including linen and curtains), household goods such as crockery, glass and bric-a-brac items and in some stores furniture. These items need to be in good condition.
As summer is coming it would be great to receive all those good quality summer clothes that are in your wardrobe but no longer needed!
Vinnies Shops, which rely on donations from the community, are the best known of the St Vincent de Paul Society’s good works. The sale of donated goods at Vinnies Shops goes a long way to helping disadvantaged people through family support, homeless services, women’s and family refuges, care of the mentally ill, youth support and many more services.
Vinnies Shops don’t just sell things - they are an important contact point for people who need help from the Society.
There are over 620 Centres of Charity in Australia staffed and run by a large contingent of dedicated volunteers. In NSW/ACT alone, there are over 8,700 volunteers. Vinnies Shops rely heavily on these men and women from local communities who generously give of their time in order to maintain its service and help assist people in every area of need.

Look out for The Wiggles posters, door hangers (available in store while stocks last) and window displays at your nearest Vinnies Shop and come in for a browse. As The Wiggles say, “You’ll love what you find!”
