THE WIGGLES - ANOTHER RECORD BROKEN

9 December, 2007

The Wiggles today become the most prolific act in the Adelaide Entertainment Centre’s history.
Upon completion of their 33rd performance over eleven years, The Wiggles will have played to more than 150,000 fans at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.
… And they’re more popular than ever! The Wiggles will entertain over 15,000 fans of all ages during three concerts today – their largest total audience in a single year at the venue.
Blue Wiggle Anthony says, “We spend most of the year performing around the world. At the end of this year we will have played in 86 cities and performed 224 shows, singing 5,600 songs! But I can honestly say that there's nothing like the great feeling of touring back home in Australia. To be the most successful act to have performed here in Adelaide is a great honour.”
“The Entertainment Centre treats us like family. We have been performing as a group for over 16 years now and we want to thank the people of Adelaide for coming to see our show!” Anthony says.
The Wiggles released their first self-titled album in the same year that the Adelaide Entertainment Centre opened, 1991, and held their first concert at the venue in 1997.
Adelaide Entertainment Centre Chief Executive Officer, Anthony Kirchner said, “We feel very close to The Wiggles here at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre. They’ve been a big part of our history!”
“The Adelaide Entertainment Centre has played host to some of the biggest names in world entertainment – Kylie Minogue, AC/DC, Elton John, Justin Timberlake, Pink, KISS, Andrea Bocelli, you name it – but no act has come close to attracting as many fans as The Wiggles to this venue,” he says.
